Wayne Blackshear has been hampered with injuries most of his career at UofL. He suffered a shoulder injury in the McD’s All-American game, and there has been several other set backs since then. But so far this season, Wayne appears to be healthy and playing the best basketball we’ve seen from him. He is more aggressive with his shot selection, and hitting a lot of them. He had 1 game were his shots weren’t falling, and he kept shooting. Last year, he seemed to let missed shots get to him and effect the rest of his game. This year, that doesn’t appear to be the case. With Wayne healthy, he should be ready for a break out year.
There is a lot to be excited about as a UofL fan, much of which has to do with the fast approaching football season. A lot of returning players are getting preseason hype, and we expect them to live up to it. DeVante Parker is returning from a big Sophomore year. He will likely have a bigger role in the offense this year, which is impressive consider it seemed that every time he caught a pass last year he was in the end zone. Lorenzo Mauldin is an anchor for our defense, and this year should be a big one for Mr. Mauldin. With studs like this on both sides of the ball, it should be a great year for Louisville football. There is also a new iPhone wallpaper, featuring the silhouette of a couple football Cards.
As we all (should) know, this has been an unbelievable year for the University Of Louisville Cardinals. I started with a win in the Sugar Bowl and ended with a basketball national championship and a trip to the College World Series, with a lot of great moments in between. I have been a Cards fan for all of my 24 years, and this will be one I will never forget. From watching the Sugar Bowl at a friends house, to being in Atlanta for the National Championship game, it was a great year to be a UofL fan. To commemorate this year I decided to make a “Year Of The Cardinal” wallpaper, which I hope does the year an ounce of the respect it deserves. I know I may have left some of the accomplishments off, I just touched on the big ones. If you have any other feats that made this such a great year, please feel free to share and I’ll add them to the design. Thanks as always for looking.
It has been almost a week, and it still hasn’t set in. I was there, I saw it happen, and it still isn’t real yet. On Monday I didn’t only get to see my beloved Cardinals win the first National Championship of my life time, I got to live it. I had to take some time off to let everything hit, and it still hasn’t done that. I’ve watched the replay, I’ve watched endless highlights, I still get chills every time Trezl throws down the oop. Maybe this time next year it will all feel like real life.
Enough with the sappy stuff, lets move on to the wallpapers. I decided to go through a make a wallpaper for each player (that saw action in the tourney) with a similar theme. I would have liked to have included everyone, as I know they all played a roll, but I couldn’t find pictures of some of the guys. This is the first of many wallpapers I will be posting celebrating our 3rd Title, so stay tuned for the rest.
Devante Parker has been one of the most exciting players to watch on this UofL football team, he continuously makes the big plays. When in the redzone I would toss it up to Devante every time, and 9 times out of 10 he would come down with it (and that is with me throwing it). His TD grab in the Sugar Bowl was not only a great catch, but it summed up what he has done for this team all season. This is my first wallpaper for Mr. Parker, but definitely not the last. Take a look and let me know what you think. I will have more Sugar Bowl wallpapers coming in the next week or so, stay tuned.
It is an exciting time to be a Louisville Cardinal; The football team is going to the Sugar Bowl, Charlie Strong is staying, and the basketball team is ranked in the top 10. This set of wallpapers is to celebrate the latter, with a wallpaper for just about every player on the basketball team. I know that I’m missing a few, but they will be added as soon as I get pictures to use. If your favorite player didn’t get a wallpaper, keep checking back, because it’s coming. Thanks for looking, and thanks to Brandon Pry (Prudat) at cardshout.com for the images. Brandon takes great pictures and does great design work, so definitely check him out.
Bowl season is right around the corner, and this time around Cards fans get to wait until after new years to watch their team get back on the field. In just his 3rd year Charlie Strong is taking his Louisville Cardinal back to a BCS bowl, where he will face the 3rd ranked Florida Gators. Florida is where Charlie made a name for himself, so you know he will have his team ready to play. This is without a doubt the toughest game Strong has had in his time at UofL, and arguably the most important game ever for the football program. No one is giving the Cards a shot, an upset on January 2nd would continue the momentum Strong and company have started.
Hope everyone enjoys the wallpaper. Feel free to share with the world. Thanks for looking, and let me know what you think. I also want to give a special thanks to Brandon Pry (Prudat) for the pictures of the UofL players. Visit his site CardShout and check out his photo galleries as well as his graphic design work.
